About Queen Mattresses
Ah, the queen mattress – the most popular size of bed there is. As Nicki Minaj said in Kanye’s hit song “Monster“, “you could be the king, but watch the queen conquer.” A clear reference to the dominant mattress size on the market.
The queen mattress is great for a couple, since it provides each partner with a fair amount of space to roll around in. It definitely takes up some space, so make sure your room is big enough to fit it comfortably – but what’s more important to a bedroom than the bed?

More About Queen Mattresses
Not only is a queen size mattress great for couples, it’s also wonderful for single individuals who just want extra space to spread out. A queen bed generally lets you spread your arms and legs pretty wide and still get relaxing comfort underneath.
Queen beds do not have the XL upgrade that you can find with twin and full mattresses (i.e., while there’s a twin XL and a full XL, there’s no “queen XL”). However, queens do have additional upgrades of their own. The most notable of these is the Olympic queen mattress, which will provide you with slightly more space without going all the way to a king.
Queen mattresses are also the standard choice for guest bedrooms. Fulls may be a little too cozy for some guests, but at the same time, no guest really expects to be given a whole king sized mattress, unless they’re a guest in some mansion or castle. (If you own a castle, you are basically expected to give king sized mattresses to any guest, from those notoriously nosy neighboring nobles all the way down to simple shephards seeking shelter from storms.)
If you have a master bedroom, it should contain nothing less than a queen mattress. Sorry, but let’s be real – you can’t be a master from a twin bed.
